Yves traveled extensively across Canada as his career unfolded as a radio reporter, television reporter and eventually producer of historical vignettes. He has experienced the hustle and bustle of city life, awe-inducing waterfalls, and historical towns within Ontario. Through travelling we learn about history, why certain town are built the way they are, and these are all very important for Yves to understand.
Yves is a firm believer that travelling doesn’t have to break the bank. “It costs less than 100 dollars to rent a car for a day including gas and lunch at a restaurant and go for a ride,” says Yves. That’s what his vlog project is aiming for. It is not about expensive travelling. It is about travelling for a weekend and discover something new. It is about the beauty right at our doorstep. “It is accessible to everyone. You just need to know these places exist.”
Postcards Ontario – the travel vlog is all about discovery within Ontario. Yves takes us to new areas and places that we don’t necessary know about. “We take that small road and we discover those small places and find beauty in them,” Yves says, “We want people to maybe get out of their usual routine to visit those spots.” Through filming and blogging about his trips, Yves reveals the hidden gems that are around us. “We need to open our eyes and change our routine to discover something worth discovering.”
The vlog project is a shared project between Yves and his partner. Yves’ eyes light up when asked about his partnership. “My best friend and partner in life, we’ve been together for 20 years. We have exactly the same path, which is amazing,” He says, “to this day, we are going through the same path again professionally, personally, everything.”
